It’s time to cover all of our bases — with cover crops, that is! This year was a mess, from the late spring, to flooding in the Midwest, to late planting. We want to find out what problems seed companies faced with cover crops this year, and what their suggestions are as the summer of 2019 comes to a close. What you’ll learn:

• The best management practices when it comes to cover crops and what a few different cover crop seed companies suggest.
• What cover crop options growers have and what seed companies recommend for 2019-2020.

Anna MorrowMidwest Cover Crops Council Program Manager
Anna Morrow has served as the program manager for the Midwest Cover Crops Council for the past three years. Anna collaborates with the MCCC Board of Directors as well as other regional cover crop councils and industry partners to advance the adoption of cover crops by sharing information and tools. She was previously the Agriculture and Natural Resource Purdue Extension Educator in Franklin County Indiana. She has a master’s degree in Agronomy from Purdue University with a background in soil and pasture management.
Scott WohltmanCCA, and our Cover Crop Lead for the Eastern US.
Scott is a Certified Crop Advisor and the current Agronomist & Cover Crop Lead for La Crosse Seed, headquartered in La Crosse, WI. Scott also serves as Chair for the Cover Crop Working Group of the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA), striving to bring credibility and quality standards/policies to the environmental seed industry all while representing the trade at both state and federal levels. Scott started his career working for Effingham Equity, an ag retailer in south central IL for 10 years and later transitioned to Land O'Lakes for 7 years (mainly as a Forage/Alfalfa/Cover Crop Agronomist), working primarily with ag input suppliers and seed dealers across IL, IN, MO, IA, & OH. Scott graduated from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL in 1997 (with a BS degree in Agribusiness Economics) and currently resides outside Effingham, IL (married w/two children), where his family operates a corn/soy/livestock operation.
