How Do Mail In Rebates Work?

How Do Mail In Rebates Work? How do mail in rebates work?

Sometimes when you go to the store you'll see that there is a notice that says something like, “Buy this product and you will receive a rebate in the mail.” What that means is that when you purchase that product at full price you can send in a form and receive that money back in the mail for the amount of the rebate. It usually comes in the form of a gift card.

Here are the steps you need to take in order to receive your mail in rebate:

1. Buy the product that offers the mail in rebate (at full purchase price).

2. Make a copy of the receipt.

3. Cut the UPC symbol off of the product box.

4. Find the company online that made the product.

5. Print out the mail in rebate form off of their website.

6. Staple the UPC symbol to the form.

7. Fill out the form.

8. Put the form with the UPC symbol attached to it in an envelope along with the copy of the receipt.

9. Make sure to address it to the correct person and address so that it arrives at the correct spot in the company.

10.Stick a stamp on it and take it to the post office.

Important to note: Make sure that you send it in before the mail in rebate has expired. Also, make sure that you have enough money to pay your bills without needing that money. A rebate is not like a coupon. It may take as long as 3-4 months to actually receive the rebate in the mail.
