Manchester United have identified Jan Oblak a replacement for David De Gea. Spanish newspaper AS say the Red Devils have the Atletico Madrid keeper ‘as an alternative’ for the Spain international. De Gea can leave Old Trafford for free next summer if he fails to agree a new contract with United. Reports this week claimed De Gea has told friends he could snub United’s offer and quit the club. The Spaniard has stalled on a £350,000-a-week deal offer from United. United are eyeing Slovenia international Oblak as a replacement for De Gea, however, he won’t come cheap. Oblak has a £107m (€120m) release clause in his current Atletico contract. United will have to break their transfer record again to snap up the stopper. PSG are keeping tabs on De Gea’s situation ahead of the January transfer window. De Gea can sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January. Another player who could leave United next summer is Paul Pogba. Real Madrid were tipped to sign the midfielder in the summer, however, a deal didn’t materialise.
