Hello and welcome back all my dragon ball theorist, we have all been waiting for Manga chapter 52 to come out since we have such interesting character progression going on right now with Goku and Vegeta. Our heroes split up last chapter to come up with ways to counter Moro who is still on his planet absorbing destruction path of the Universe. Goku who starts to unveil Merus true power and decides to train with him to unlock Ultra Instinct and then Vegeta finally landing on Yardrat to uncover ancient secrets and learn a technique to counter Moro who has beaten them easily with his Magic. So this chapter didn't disappoint as we finally get into Goku and Vegeta's journey and plans to defeat their hardest enemy they have seen. With that said we are going to be discussing the Dragon Ball Super Manga chapter 52 in detail, so if you haven't read it yet because it just came out. Spoilers ahead and there is a link in the description to Viz where I personally like
reading the chapters.
First up Vegeta secret plan on Yardrat which last chapter it ended with him finally arriving at the planet. We didn't know too much as to what his plans were except him stating, "the denizens of
that planet aren't suited to physical combat, but they employ a number of strange techniques." The very same tribe that taught Kakarrot instant transmission. Then when Vegeta was alone in his
quarters swore that he won't be made a fool of again and will learn a way to achieve victory over Moro, those convicts and even over Kakkarot. Many asked well if Vegeta knew they had these
secrets, then why only now visit Yardrat. This is just excellent character development I feel and story telling for Vegeta who's journey has led him to even new heights with Super Saiyan
Blue Evolution in the tournament. However he realizes that strength alone isn't enough. When they were defeated again by Moro and Goku asked Vegeta to grab onto him to Instant transmission out of there. Vegeta had his epiphany, "Stupid Magic Spells, Stupid God Power" Forget Instant transmission!! We Saiyans pride ourselves on physical might, and nothing more! A warrior race has no need for fancy parlor tricks!!....And yet, I have been reduced to this!!! So this was a hard defeat for Vegeta and despite how incredibly strong he has become, he realizes the path he is on isn't enough. He has reached his limits and now must seek out something that Pride has always prevented him from doing!! Which was to now visit Yardrat to learn techniques that don't rely on power or physical strength.
Finally the chapter ends with revealing some more about Merus as they headed to a secret location where Goku could train. I love how this panel is worded, as the forces of darkness encroach upon
Earth, Goku and Merus begin training.... Now we get into something that I already did a very detailed video on of Merus true identity and if you haven't seen it yet it goes into detail everything
we know about Merus up to this point and explains the source of his mysterious powers. Here more is revealed that we already knew if you have been following that video and Goku soon finds out. While trying to attain Ultra Instinct again he just isn't getting it, He claims he has to empty his heart and mind for that move to work, but when I'm fighting my emotions are all over the place.
Which Merus corrects Goku, No, it's not quite that simple. Rage, grief, joy, those strong emotions can translate to prodigious power. Just like your super saiyan transformation. Which Goku says yeah that one is triggered by rage. However the technique you are after is the opposite!! It will activate when you achieve self control in the face of a jarring shock to your emotions. Such is Ultra Instinct!!! Now it is officially confirmed that Merus knows Ultra Instinct and has been keeping it a secret for good reason. Then Merus tells Goku after having no doubts about him we must enter a special room to continue their training.
It's a room of spirit and time which Goku is very familar with but in this room every day that passes on the outside gives them 3 days in there.
