Working With Illustration Clients Q&A

Working With Illustration Clients Q&A You asked, I answered! Time for an epic Q&A covering all you still wanted to know after my mini-series on working with freelance illustration clients.

Here are some of the questions we'll tackle:
- How do you feel working in an industry that’s heavily digital? Any pressure? Client expectations? Or do most of your clients come to you for traditional work?
- Have you ever had to revoke the ability for a company to get their JPEG etc because of lack of communication or otherwise?
- Any tips on where to get information in regards to the picture book illustration process?=
- What would you do if the client doesn’t pay the kill fee? Or how do you go about receiving the kill fee?
- When you want to show a client the end result before sending the high res file, what do you give them?
- Do you send physical artwork to the client, or just digital files?
- What happens if a client commissions you to make something that you don’t want to have your name attached to? Is it ok to refuse?
- If a client specifically asks for multiple sketches/different versions of each illustration, do you charge more?
