“Love is the Answer” is the first studio album by Van McCoy and The Soul City Symphony, released in 1974 under the Avco Records. Van McCoy formed his own orchestra earlier that year, Soul City Symphony, and with singers Faith, Hope and Charity, where they produced several albums and gave many performances. The title song “Love is the Answer” and “Killing Me Softly” are the two hits of the album. Leading up to the release of the album, the singles “Boogie Down” and “Rainy Night in Georgia” were put out in anticipation for album.
