3 practices to meet your authentic self: i was declined healthcare recently because i set strong boundaries for care. it’s against my personal policy to allow medical professionals to do whatever they want to me. and, I fully see that; in many respects, the only reason patients are told they “have” to do stuff is because the medical professionals are trying to legally cover their butt. in many cases, what they’re recommending is not better for the individual, it’s better for their business.
when a medical professional tells you they need to do something, ask yourself if you’re OK with that something. YOU CAN SAY NO to anything you aren’t comfortable with.
i brought up this topic on IG stories and people had a lot to say about it, so I made an IGTV about it so we could all discuss: it’s my body, it’s my life, it’s my money… i should be in the drivers’ seat of my own health.
agree? disagree? I’d love to know your thoughts in the comments!
{it should be noted, and i mention this in the video… not all healthcare companies and medical professionals are like this. sadly, this situation is more common than not.}
