Teen suspect to remain in juvenile court for alleged robbery accomplice's murder

Teen suspect to remain in juvenile court for alleged robbery accomplice's murder CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A local teen will not be tried as an adult for the murder of his friend. A judge has ruled that Amariyon Colbert's case will remain in juvenile court.

Colbert, 15, did not pull the trigger but is still charged with murder. He's been in custody since June and it was decided he'll remain in custody.

Police say he and Jordan Lara tried to rob a woman on Reading Road in Avondale. The woman pulled out a gun and shot Lara, who died at the hospital.

Prosecutors wanted Colbert to be bound over to adult court because both he and Lara had a gun and Colbert was on probation at the time of the robbery.

Tuesday, the judge ruled the circumstances did not rise the level necessary to try Colbert as an adult.

Colbert's next hearing is set for the 19th.
