2 critical exemptions in Citizenship Amendment Bill revealed; New Law not applicable to North East

TIMES NOW has accessed the Citizenship Amendment Bill draft.
There are two major exemptions in the bill as per the draft copy, which are as follows:

1) Anyone violating the OCI conditions will be kept out

2) New Law is not applicable for North-East India

The Citizenship Bill is likely to be introduced in Parliament next week. The Bill that could not be cleared in the previous Lok Sabha session has been re-drafted to address concerns expressed by states in the North-East.
