Environment services firm 800 Super's new $130-million complex will bring together work that is as diverse as treating waste and sterilising laundry in a single facility. More importantly, it runs on only the energy generated from those activities. The facility in Tuas spans 21,000 sqm. It houses 800 Super's biomass plant, which uses horticultural waste to produce electricity. Some of that is channelled to the on-site treatment plant, which treats sludge from Singapore's water reclamation plants. The process produces more than enough steam to wash, iron and sterilise items for the company's laundry business.
