San Diego: False Reports Leads to Large Search & Rescue Effort 12042019

A homeless person told a good samaritan that his friend had been swept away by the floodwaters in Chollas Creek.


SDFD Firefighters and Lifeguards along with Copter 2 made a large scale effort to look for this victim and had people at every over-crossing along the creek channel.


SDFD then found out that the homeless never saw his friend in the water. he was just afraid for his friend since he lives in one of the storm drain tunnels.


The search was called off after 30-40 minutes
