In this video Heimler walks you through Unit 5 Topic 7 (5.7) of the AP World History curriculum.

As industrialization spread, economic innovations spread with it. Most significantly, there was a shift from the older economic system of mercantilism towards laissez faire, free market economics.

And right along with these economic innovations, social changes began to occur. Factory workers began slipping off to pubs after work in order to escape the dreariness of their work. Additionally, we see the rise of a leisure culture which included past times like bicycle riding and spectator sports.
