Grahana Chandra Grahachara | Lunar Eclipse 2020: Significance and Impact on the Zodiac Signs The first Lunar Eclipse of 2020 is falling on 10th January (Friday) which will be a penumbral Lunar Eclipse when the Sun, the Moon and the Earth will be in a perfect straight line. The eclipse will start as the Moon rises at 10:39 pm on 10th January, 2020 and will last till 2:40 am on 11th January, 2020.
This Lunar Eclipse has the Moon closest to the Earth which is the second full Moon and the Moon turns deep red, which is why it is also popularly known as Wolf Moon Eclipse.
Significance:
Eclipses or ‘grahan’ are also accompanied by the generation of harmful rays. Thus, looking at the Moon and being out in the open during this time must be avoided. It is also advised that pregnant women should stay indoors as the harmful rays could have an adverse effect on the baby. As per astrology, eating, indulging in sexual intercourse and signing new deals during this time should be avoided.
To nullify the harmful effects on the grahan, ‘chandra mantra or stotra’ should be recited and holy ‘gangajal’ should be sprinkled. Chandra Grahan is not all about adverse effects. It also has a positive effect on its natives. It is believed that their prayers are readily accepted and they can also get rid of the ‘doshas’ by worshiping during this time.
