Human minds like things that make sense and dislike things that don’t. For that reason, we make stuff up to explain things we don’t understand. As long as it works for us, it doesn't matter whether it is logical or delusional. Even if the person who the mind belongs to wants logic over delusion, the mind still only allows for what makes sense, even if what makes sense to it is delusion and not logic. It wins in the end.
