Training in Japan under Andre Bertel (7th Dan)

Training in Japan under Andre Bertel (7th Dan) Here is a brief video of training in Japan on the 国際空手道松濤館 (IKS - International Karate Shotokan) RENSHUSEI PROGRAM.

I created this training to really work on building up the level of karateka here in Japan and around the world.

My policy is to work with individuals at their level then gradually elevate their karate, step-by-step, increasing the pressure without overwhelming them. The basis of my approach is deeply influenced by my JKA-style Shotokan background, personal training from Asai Sensei, and academic training in education; furthermore, my nearly 40 years in Karate-Do.

The IKS Renshusei program has become a massive success as it gets big results. The training lifts everyone's level because it is specialized for each individual.

The only weakness is my inability to except all trainees due to time constraints especially based on domestic demand. For foreign trainees, booking at least three months is advised. Last year I had to decline many non-Japanese trainees due to the popularity of the program within Japan.
