Govt decision to extend travel ban 'will be consistent' with observations

Govt decision to extend travel ban 'will be consistent' with observations Australia Medical Association President Dr Tony Bartone says the government’s decision on whether to extend the travel ban "will be based on feedback from both the medical personal advising government and the Security Committee directly”.

The government will reportedly decide to extend the travel ban on mainland China on Thursday afternoon that will continue to prevent non-citizens arriving from mainland China.

Mr Bartone told Sky News the decision “would be one consistent following current observations”.

He said of the 15 coronavirus cases confirmed in Australia “half of them have recovered and following proper protocol they are back out into the community”.

“It is an important time to be very vigilant and very alert but not to be alarmed and go about business as usual.”
