Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei cast his vote in Thursday's general election for the country's 11th parliament in Tehran.

The Ayatollah could be seen casting his vote for the 290-seat parliament in the first election since the US disengaged from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018.

Khamenei and the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called on the nearly 58 million eligible voters to participate in the election.
