Ph Labor Group: Gov't should provide targetted subsidies to workers affected by Covid-19

The Trade Union Congress of the Philippines or TUCP urges government to look at possible subsidies it can provide for thousands of Filipinos who could lose their jobs because of the Covid-19 outbreak. On Friday, Philippine Airlines announced it's laying off some 300 employees due to revenue losses brought about by flight suspensions and other travel restrictions. But TUCP estimates at least 7,000 workers, mostly from the hospitality industry, could be laid off due to the health crisis.
