Malayalees take part in 'Onam Pookalam competition’ held at Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple in Delhi Onam is the festival of flower carpets or Pookalam. Actually Onam is a magical time — filled with creativity, exploration and togetherness. To celebrate Onam the Malayalees in Delhi took part in traditional ‘Onam Pookalam competition’ held at Uttara Guruvayurappan Temple in Delhi. Relevantly, Onam is an annual Harvest festival in the state of Kerala in India. According to legends, the festival is celebrated to commemorate King Mahabali, whose spirit is said to visit Kerala at the time of Onam.
