Puddletown Forest MTB in Dorset has been on my hit list for a little while. I normally go camping in Swanage every year, but have never had the chance to hit this place. Until now, I didn't know anyway from the area. What changed? Well that would be my Facebook group linked below. There are a couple of guys that are locals and offered to take us around the area. "Result" So Puddletown isn't that far from Portsmouth, approx. 1 hr 30 min so it's always worth the effort to see what new areas are like. There were a good few that made the session and travelled from all over.
I wouldn't like to try and link the Puddletown trails in on my own, so having a guided tour will ease the pain of missing everything.
Puddletown has a variety of features and trails. Many of which I've featured in this edit. There’s stuff for every ability, and then there's the crazy big features/gaps I kept well away from.
Either way Puddletown forest has a bit of everything that will put a smile on your face. The climbs are average. While they may not be for everyone, I just found compared to my local it was easy. That's just me though.
Take food and drink as there's no facilities near where we parked. Although we did stop for a lunch break at the local pub half way through. Very nice I must say.
We all have a cracking time hitting Puddletown forest trails, and thanks to Grant & Josh for the tour.
Until next time.
