Reliance Jio IUC explained - 1GB data per IUC top-up of ₹10 (Short version - Hindi)

Reliance Jio IUC explained - 1GB data per IUC top-up of ₹10 (Short version - Hindi) Interconnect Usage Charge or IUC is a cost paid by one mobile telecom operator to another when its customers make outgoing mobile calls to the other operator’s customers. IUC charges are fixed by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and are currently at 6 paise per minute. Over the past three years, the net IUC Jio has paid is ₹13000 Cr. In September 2017, to create regulatory predictability in 2017 TRAI decided to eliminate the IUC charges with effect from January 2020. Now that TRAI has revisited its decision and decided to extend the IUC charges further Reliance Jio can no longer subsidize other operators. Hence, Reliance Jio is compelled to pass on this regulatory charge of 6 paise/minute for all outgoing calls.

Now any recharge you make after 10th October you will need another additional IUC top-up. This top-up will be added to your regular talk time and will be deducted at the rate of 6paise/min whenever you make calls on other network operators. To compensate these charges, Jio will be offering 1GB data per IUC top-up of worth ₹10.
