Sneezing your way through Spring in Melbourne? Help may be on its way | ABC News Do you hate Melbourne's London plane trees and the hayfever symptoms they induce? Melbourne City Council has announced the maligned trees will be removed under a long-term plan to diversify the city's tree population. London plane trees — known to cause physical irritation and allergic reactions in some people — currently make up 70 per cent of the total tree population in the inner city.
