Barrio Maulap townsfolk lends Mang Ruben a helping hand | Starla Recap

Starla: Week 4 Recap - Part 1

Mang Apol (Jerry O'Hara) rallies up the residents of Barrio Maulap to aid Mang Ruben (Joe Gruta), their neighbor in need. Upon learning of their actions, Teresa (Judy Ann Santos) grows enraged feeling that the whole town is against her and her plans. Elsewhere, Buboy (Enzo Pelojero) tells Greggy (Joel Torre) his idea to help with funding Ruben's operation.

Meanwhile, Buboy and Tonton's pure hearts shine as they make efforts to aid their townmate in need. The Rosales Group, on the other hand, brings forward a tempting offer to convince the locals into selling their properties. This compels Philip (Raymart Santiago) to confront Teresa for exploiting Mang Ruben's situation to push her company's agenda. Threatened by the ongoing movement, Teresa orders Dexter (Joem Bascon) to pull out all the stops in swaying the ill man to give up his land.

Barrio Maulap residents decide to go busking in Barangay San Martin in hopes of gathering more money for Mang Ruben's operation. On their way home, they encounter a group of thieves threatening to take away the donations. Fortunately, Pedro (Jordan Herrera) arrives just in time to save his townmates. Upon learning about what happened, Teresa (Judy Ann Santos) blows up at Dexter (Joem Bascon) for his sloppy actions. Meanwhile, Ruben's condition continues to worsen.
