The Easy Fire, named after its ignition point near East Street and Madera Road in Simi Valley, charred 1,806 hours starting at about 6 am the morning of Wednesday, October 30th until it was fully contained on November 2nd, 2019. The fire cause a bit of a panic due to the strong Santa Ana winds that day and the possibility of a public safety power shutoff due to the winds. The Reagan Library was literally surrounded by the fire, but thanks to the efforts of our firefighter heroes, the fire did not reach the library.
Goats that munched their way around the hills below the Reagan Library were credited with an assist in the firefighting effort, having helped create larger defensible space around the Library last May.
