Using Colourfix smooth paper with my colour pencils - Is it comparable to Pastelmat?

I was handed a piece of colourfix smooth paper to try out! It was a colour I never would have chosen to work on, but I ended up having a lot of fun! I can't wait to try this stuff out as a ground... Colour pencil on canvas perhaps???
