Powering the diesel version is a four cylinder, turbocharged 2.0 litre EcoBlue unit, which produces 190hp along with 400Nm of torque, which makes it twice as torquey as the 2.0 litre Duratec engine used in the last model.
It's also the most powerful diesel engine ever to be fitted to a Focus, and this power is mated to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. Unlike the petrol ST, the diesel will not be made available with 7-speed automatic.
0-62mph is dealt with in 7.6 seconds, and the top speed is 137mph. In regard to fuel economy, on a combined run you can expect to see up to 50.4mpg, and it emits 125g/km.
There will of course be a full review coming, but in the mean time, please feel free to ask any questions or drop a comment.
