For any rural development activities, active participation from the communities especially women is vital and are the key stakeholders. Bringing women folks together through the Self Help Group (SHG) Movement has been encouraging. With 622 SHGs under the project implemented by NEIDA in collaboration with Eleutheros Christian Society (ECS) and Chakesang Women Welfare Society in 3 districts of Nagaland- Kiphire, Tuensang and Phek districts, the women communities have come together with the main objective to help each other economically and socially. SHGs not only practices 'thrift and credit' but have also taken different social responsibilities in their respective villages
