কন্যাসন্তান, তার ওপর শ্যামলা গায়ের রঙ – কলকাতার মত শহরে জন্ম নিলেও জয়িতা রায়কে ছোট থেকেই এই মধ্যযুগীয় গোঁড়া মানসিকতার আক্রমণের শিকার হতে হয়েছে একেবারে ছোটবেলা থেকেই। এরপর কিছু ভালো করে বুঝে ওঠার আগেই বাবা-মায়ের বিচ্ছেদ জয়িতাকে ঠেলে দেয় হতাশার আরও অন্ধকারে। দাঁতে দাঁত চেপে হতাশার শৈশব এবং কৈশোর পার করে, এরপর তাঁর জীবনে আসে প্রেম। কিন্তু সেই প্রেমিকও তাঁকে কিছু বছরের মধ্যেই জীবনের মাঝপথে একা ছেড়ে দেয়। মানসিক অবসাদে পিছু হটতে হটতে খাদের একেবারে কিনারে চলে এসেও শেষমেশ নিজের সর্বস্বটুকু দিয়ে জীবনের আপ্রাণ লড়াই লড়ে আজ নিজেকে একজন successful entrepreneur হিসেবে প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছেন জয়িতা। জোশ TALKS-এর মঞ্চে জয়িতা রায়-এর গল্প সেই সব মানুষদের আবার নতুন করে বাঁচার জন্য আশার আলো দেখাবে যারা ভেবেছিলেন তাঁরা জীবনযুদ্ধ হেরে গেছেন।
In spite of been born and brought up in a metro-city like Kolkata, Joyeeta Roy had to face medieval mentality of immense hatred and discrimination for being a dark-skinned girl child from her very childhood. She was pushed to more depressing situation when her parents got divorced. After fighting with the battle of insecurities throughout her childhood and adolescence, love came to her life. But her lover also left her in the midway of life. Engulfed with depression, when Joyeeta reached almost the verge of death, she decided to fight back with everything she had and established herself as a successful entrepreneur.
