Russia: Worker dies as stadium roof collapses during demolition work in St Petersburg

One construction worker was killed as roof of the Saint Petersburg Sports and Concert Complex (SKK Peterburgsky) collapsed during demolition work on Friday.

The body of the worker, a 29-year-old male, was later discovered in the rubble.

Drone footage shot after the incident shows the remains of the arena, with part of the roof missing and clouds of dust covering the surrounding area.

According to regional branch of Investigative Committee, three other workers who were on the roof at the moment of collapse survived and are being questioned.

The exact circumstances of the accident are being established.
