Is Undertaking on the left illegal? When you have been undertaking someone on the left have been breaking the law?
Undertaking is the practice of overtaking someone who is driving slowly on the right.
Highway Code states do not overtake on the left.
Unless it is slow moving traffic you can pass on the left to keep the traffic flow its safer than weaving in and out of traffic. and when the traffic has signalling to turn right and slowing down in that case you can undertake.
when someone is hogging the middle lane and driving at speed slower than the speed limit of the road.
please avoid that because it can be dangerous to undertake, you are undertaking on the blind spot of the middle lane hogger.
If you undertake recklessly you can be charged with careless driving or dangerous driving.
