No need for special Dewan Rakyat sitting, says Agong Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah consented the decision made by the Dewan Rakyat Speaker to not call for a special sitting this March 2.

In a statement by the Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Ahmad Fadli Shamsuddin, the King would continue with efforts to find a solution in line with the Federal Constitution in the best interest of the rakyat and the country.

Istana Negara will instead call leaders of political parties with representation in Dewan Rakyat to give them an opportunity to nominate a member of Parliament as prime minister, the statement said.

The Ruler also expressed his gratitude to all members of Parliament, chief secretary to the government and all those involved in the two-day one-on-one interview session which began on Tuesday Feb 25.
